The Beginning - Driving a National Solution

In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, graduates of Carnegie Mellon University founded CFI in Pittsburgh, PA and pioneered the use of technology to manage medical professionals in large-scale disasters. The company’s founders helped drive a national initiative to establish standardized volunteer registration programs that resulted in the Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP). The ESAR-VHP Program verifies registrants’ identification and credentials in advance of a disaster to save critical time when emergencies strike.


Today - A Strong National Presence

CFI developed the first statewide responder management program in 2003 and continues to lead the nation in responder management and disaster response systems, protecting nearly half of the U.S. population. Harnessing its unrivaled experience, CFI offers a full range of emergency management solutions. CFI's multi-disciplinary team of talented individuals includes many seasoned health professionals with decades of experience in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters. Today, with offices across the country, CFI continues to expand to support its rapidly-growing client base and to drive exciting new product opportunities.
